The Academy will fulfil all the needs in the field of education, training and research. Academy has been undertaking vocational related training which is missing in next generation. It also has been developed as an organization that provides various solutions and programmes. The training curriculum, activities, programmes and facilities at the academy have been designed and developed in line with the emerging trends and practices in education and training. Maharashtra state is very much concerned about increasing the forest cover throughout the state. Around 20.01% has covered under forest area, of the total 50,628 sq. km. under forests, 8792 sq.km. under dense to very dense forests, 20747 sq. km is classified as minimum dense and 21169 sq. km. as open forest. The state forest department undertakes efforts to achieve the target of having 33% forest cover. I think that the academy will support this Maharashtra government's vision of making the state strong, progressive and empowered, as the academy will enhance the skills and develop a scientific approach regarding sustainable growth in the field of forests, wildlife and environment through training, research and study. The academy in its endeavour to encourage forest officials, government bodies, public as well as private sectors and most important the youth and citizens; is keen to ensure maximum participation in the educational programme on an advanced basis. It is envisaged that the future generation, of government officers and leaders of the nation, utilize this opportunity and participate in undertaking the noble task of the academy. M.
